is a universal embedded hardware platform designed from scratch by Seedz based on YOCTO, which can be expanded and tailored to the needs of our clients. At the heart of DataWeeder is a System-on-a-Module (SoM) by a German manufacturer. This SoM is based on an ARM CPU, known for its energy-saving and cost-effective features. The provided versatile interfaces allow to migrate aged legacy systems through wired and wireless connectivity, to enhance maximum availability and security within your network with certificate based authentication as well as end-to-end encryption (E2EE).

Converging energy!

DataWeeder is more than a remote terminal unit (RTU), it's a universal smart gateway solution designed from scratch, enabling secure and stable connectivity over mobile and fibre optic networks.

DataWeeder is a hardened edge device for mission critical infrastructures or any IoT application as well as for that provides the essential functionality, technical cybernetics and interfaces to link your assets and couples your sectors with certificate based authentication and end-to-end encryption.
Complementary to Seedz DataWeeder, we offer an application platform as a service (aPaaS) solution on customers premise, in the cloud or hosted by Seedz, connecting control systems via communication transport profiles such as the IEC 60870-5 family, Modbus, Modbus to 104, etc. - wired or wireless.
DataWeeder provides a variety of functionalities such as a smart proxy, solving connectivity problems over mobile networks to keep the connection alive for time-sensitive protocols, such as IEC 60870-5-105 et al.
Further, Seedz utilises the smart proxy approach when connecting devices to systems e.g. SCADA. DataWeeder appears as a network device on the local network, and then moves the packets over to the server-side in a secure and encrypted fashion where they subsequently enter SCADA.
One of the advantages of using the proxy approach is transparency over network topology, as well as additional security benefits: Seedz uses special server components to filter out non-compliant or suspicious traffic in case edges devices are compromised.

Such a universal platform allows Seedz to quickly tailor its edge devices to particular client needs. In case extra hardware features are needed, Seedz can add those to the next version of the DataWeeder hardware.
Seedz is currently working on integrating the following features into its flagship DataWeeder product:
